Miranda IM 0.5 Preview Release 4 Now Available

Miranda IM 0.5 Preview Release 4 is now available for download. The following changes were made since Preview Release 3:

  • Added installer option to install quicklaunch icons
  • Zip files contain protocol icons
  • xstatus icons now located in Icons directory (ICQ).
  • Fixed unclosed switchboards (MSN)
  • Fixed indirect file transfer hangups (MSN)
  • Fixed avatar sessions bug (MSN)
  • Unicode fix for jabber password dialog (Jabber)
  • Crash in Jabber VJUD search (Jabber)
  • Proper nick creation for groupchat autojoin (Jabber)
  • Fixed memory leak in tray menu
  • Fixed -1 unread emails issue (MSN)
  • Fixed the edit msn profile url (MSN)
  • Connection issue with TLS (Jabber)
  • Fixed a bug that causes a crash on an buddy addition failure (AIM)
  • Fixed an accidental usage of utf for non-utf miranda (AIM)
  • Fixed some group addition bugs (AIM)
  • Fixed a bug causing unknown to be written over known clients on status change (AIM)
  • Offline all contacts on miranda startup (AIM)
  • Changed how aimoscar writes the MirVer string to the db- so that client change notifications don’t happen twice (AIM)
  • Set a timeout for peer connection attempts so that it doesn’t attempt for 45+ seconds (AIM)
  • Hotmail inbox didn’t work (MSN)
  • Fix for -1 unread mails (MSN)
  • Fix for edit msn profile url (MSN)

Before you download this release, please be aware of the following:

  1. This release has been tested and should not contain any major bugs, however we can make no promises. As always, please backup your profile and plugins before installing.
  2. We need users to test both the zip and the installer to verify that initial setup is working correctly. If you are upgrading from please let us know if the installer does not upgrade your installation correctly.
  3. It is very import that you report any bugs you find as soon as possible. The quicker we get reports of issues with this release, the quicker we can officially release a stable 0.5.
